Ever since we adopted our first two Ragdoll kittens in 2014, we’ve fallen in love with the breed for its unique personality and charming characteristics. Here’s more information about the Ragdoll breed and the care that we take at Pinnacle Cattery to bring out its best qualities in our kittens.
Like Maine Coons, Ragdolls are large cats with gentle, easygoing dispositions that make them ideal pets. But Ragdolls are distinct from Maine Coons in several ways, including their slightly smaller size.
Adult Ragdoll males will usually top the scale at 15 to 20 pounds. Females are smaller and usually weigh between 10 and 15 pounds at maturity. Ragdolls are also slow-maturing cats. They reach full coat and color at two years and their full size and weight at four.
In appearance, Ragdolls are large, laid-back, semi-longhaired cats with stunning blue eyes. The Ragdoll is a pointed breed, which means that the body is lighter in color than the points. They are known for their gentleness and get the name “Ragdoll” from their tendency to go limp in your arms when they cuddle and relax.
Pinnacle Cattery’s Ragdoll kittens are carefully bred to produce large, affectionate animals that are not overly active but enjoy time with family and get along well with other pets. We thoughtfully select our males and females and use genetic health testing to ensure our kittens represent the ideal qualities of the breed.
